Level 1: Growing Roots, The Theoretical Underpinnings of the EcoSensory Model

Step into the core of the EcoSensory model. This immersive online course guides you through the theoretical foundations, therapeutic principles, and practical frameworks that shape EcoSensory practice. Learn how to use the model as an assessment, formulation, and session-planning tool, and begin to notice how nature can inform, reveal, and support therapeutic processes.

Ideal for therapists, educators, guides, and practitioners ready to integrate nature into their professional work.

Level 1: Embodied Roots, A 2-Day Immersive Practicum in Nature

Experience the model in your own landscape, either in person or supported online

This two-day practical immersion invites you to step outside and experience the EcoSensory Model in action. Whether you join us in person or join through our online facilitation (guiding you as you go into your own local forest or outdoor space), you will be supported to embody the principles of nature-based therapeutic work.

What You’ll Experience

• Guided EcoSensory activities aligned with every element of the model
• Time outdoors to feel the framework rather than simply learn it
• Foundations of ethical, safe, and respectful nature-based practice
• How to choose, assess, and work confidently within natural spaces
• Safely holding therapeutic space outdoors and online
• Core principles of outdoor risk assessment

Leave grounded, inspired, and equipped with real-world tools to begin weaving EcoSensory practice into your sessions, groups, or personal work.

No experience required, only curiosity and a willingness to step outside.

Level 2: Branches to Becoming

Case-Study, Practice, and Supervision

Level 2 is where your EcoSensory skills deepen, stretch, and become embodied. Through guided supervision, collaborative inquiry, and structured case-study work, you will develop confidence in applying the model within real therapeutic contexts.

This level is designed for practitioners who want to solidify their competence, refine their practice, and work toward becoming fully recognised EcoSensory practitioners.

What Level 2 Includes

• A two-day intensive Case Study Programme
  Explore applied practice together, review real examples, and work collaboratively with peers and facilitators. These two days can be taken as a standalone experience or added to the Canopy Gathering.

   

• Supervision and feedback on your own EcoSensory practice
  Guided supervision ensures that you can safely and effectively integrate the model into your client work.

   

• Case Study Submission
  You will complete written case studies demonstrating your ability to apply the EcoSensory Model, reflect on the process, and evidence your understanding.

   

• Additional reflective and practical tasks
  These tasks help you demonstrate your competence in nature-based practice, ethical considerations, safety, and therapeutic application.

‘Bearing Fruit’: Advanced Practitioner training

Let us support you to become an Advanced Practitioner in the EcoSensory Therapy model of practice.

With guidance and mentorship from a recognised EcoSensory Therapy supervisor, we will support you through 1 to 1 supervision sessions, developing your EcoSensory model of practice.

To receive your Advanced Practitioner title, you will demonstrate your thorough understanding and application of the EcoSensory model through two cases brought to supervision. We will ask you to complete an Advanced Case Study Assignment.

The Canopy Gathering – A Celebration for All EcoSensory Learners

A residential weekend of connection, creativity, and community

The Canopy Gathering is joyful meeting place for everyone who has completed any part of the EcoSensory training pathway. This residential weekend brings together learners, practitioners, and trainers in a vibrant, restorative, nature-based retreat.
