EcoSensory Therapy Online Practitioner training: ‘Growing Roots’ – 2023

Description

Our ‘Growing Roots’ training is designed to give you the necessary knowledge, foundations and skills to safely move your clinical practice into nature. This course has been carefully crafted and designed to provide you with strong ‘roots’ to grow your nature-based practice. 

The course is 12 lessons and has more than 25 hours of mixed-media learning material to suit diverse learning styles. You will have access to this course for 12 months.

Each lesson you gain access to a new module of our training. We start with an in-depth look at the theory behind working with nature for therapy. We then guide you through our EcoSensory Model of Practice illustrating each Model Element by sharing its theory and evidence-based, practical applications (assessment and session planning), and case studies with diverse client populations. We provide all the practical elements that you will need to put the model into practice and start sessions in nature (assessment and formulation worksheets; session planning worksheets; risk assessment proformas; fidelity measure etc).

On successful completion of the training, practitioners may call their nature-based work ‘EcoSensory Informed Practice’

All the learning materials are integrated into our website, so we’ve done the hard work for you. Once you sign up, everything you will need will be accessible through your login portal. This will be your central point for all the learning modules, as well as group conversations. Don’t worry, we take time at the start of the training to teach you how it all works and how best to use our learning platform! 

The training will be a mixture of videos, narrated slideshows, written manuals, worksheets, and experiential activities, including a podcast to take out in nature. You can go at your own pace, and you will have a year to complete the training. However, as part of a cohort, we strongly recommend trying to keep to the release weeks.

As part of the Growing Roots training,  you will have free student membership for 12 months. As part of your membership, we invite you to monthly ‘Community Forums’ with the tutors. These 1-hour sessions are your space to connect, learn, and grow in your EcoSensory journey. Join. They will be run by our team of EcoSensory Tutors (Co-Founders and Clinical Leads in the field of Clinical Psychology and Occupational Therapy) and will give you access to a community of like-minded practitioners using EcoSensory Therapy. Come along to exchange ideas, delve into cutting-edge research, and build a tight-knit community ruled by peer support.
